WAJ HIRES COMMUNICATIONS/POLITICAL AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

MADISON, Wis. ­­ -- The Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ) announces the hiring of Aaron Swanum as the organization’s Communications/Political Affairs Director.

Swanum started working for WAJ on Monday, February 22. He will be in charge of all communications duties and have various political affairs responsibilities.

Upon his appointment WAJ President Paul Gagliardi stated, “We are excited to welcome Aaron Swanum to the WAJ staff.  He is a skilled writer and journalist and will do great things for WAJ.  His job will be to help explain the practical aspects of legislation to the legislators, the media and the general public.  Aaron adds a needed dimension to our skilled staff. ”

Swanum joins the staff of WAJ after working several media-related jobs. He comes to WAJ from Unified Newspaper Group in Verona, Wisconsin where Swanum served as Web Editor/Proofreader/Reporter. Prior to that he worked as a Web News Editor for Channel3000/WISC-TV in Madison, Wisconsin.  Swanum also worked as an Assistant Sports Information Director (Graduate Assistant) at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2006-2008 while working on a Master of Liberal Studies degree.  Along with his master’s degree from UMD, Swanum earned his bachelor’s degree in print journalism and history from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Mission of the Wisconsin Association for Justice is to promote a fair and effective justice system - one that ensures justice for all, not just a privileged few.  The Association supports the work of attorneys to ensure any person harmed due to work place injury or injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can have a fair day in court, even when taking on the most powerful interests. The Association strives to achieve and maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and competency while educating and training in the art of advocacy.
