WAJ in the News From the Web What's New

Paul Gagliardi
President-Elect Paul Gagliardi has been battling acute myeloid leukemia and was just released from St. Luke’s Hospital after undergoing intense chemotherapy. Let’s wish him well and keep him and his family in our thoughts.

State Budget
WAJ leadership and staff have been working very hard in support of Joint and Several Liability and Truth in Auto Insurance provisions in the state budget. We remain optimistic that these provisions, with some modifications, will be adopted. We will provide a more detailed legislative report as the budget works through the legislative process. At this point the Joint Finance Committee has concluded its work and these important consumer protection issues have been recommended to the legislature for adoption. The State Assembly and State Senate are expected to take action on the budget in the next couple of weeks.

New Speeches Section
There is an updated section of the WAJ website that features speeches available for WAJ members to use as a resource for your future speaking engagements.  Speeches on trial by jury and understanding your automobile insurance can be downloaded.  Click Speeches in the Members area of the website.  You will need your username and password to log into this area.

Opportunities For Recent Law School Grads
Wisconsin is fortunate to have two great law schools with plenty of recent graduates looking to get some experience. WAJ Justice Fund: Become A Monthly Contributor
The Justice Fund needs your contributions to ensure we have the financial resources to continue to be a force for good in Wisconsin. If you have contributed to the fund in the past we encourage you to renew your commitment by becoming an automatic monthly contributor.

If you have never participated in the Justice Fund, now is the perfect time to get involved.  Don’t sit on the sidelines and count on someone else to take action for you.

Being a member of the Justice Fund makes it easier for you to give, and easier for WAJ to respond quickly to requests for political support. Some members choose the monthly option billed to their credit cards, and then use the additional mileage they earn for much needed vacations.
