WAJ continues the fight for Truth in Auto Insurance and Joint and Several Liability Changes–Make sure you do your part to win the fight!
Much of the effort of WAJ leadership and staff recently has focused on educating legislators and the press on the Truth in Auto Insurance and Joint and Several Liability changes in the state budget.

These changes would be a real victory for consumers if they are adopted and WAJ has been actively meeting and lobbying members of the legislature on a nearly daily basis to help ensure the passage of these provisions.  Recently the Joint Committee on Finance, the state budget committee, traveled throughout the state holding public hearings on the state budget.  WAJ members and their clients were present for six of the hearings.

Particularly effective were clients who were able to explain how they were directly affected by having insurance claims denied or reduced due to the current law.   A special thank you to everyone who provided real stories to help humanize these issues.

Additionally, WAJ members continue to meet with editorial boards across the state to help them understand how these changes will protect consumers.

The state budget will continue to be debated over the next few months and it is important that each of you make your support for these measures known to your legislators.  Drop them a line today and make sure they know that these changes will make a real difference in the lives of Wisconsin consumers.
