9:45 - Morning Break with Sponsors and Exhibitors
10:00 - 11:00 AM - Panel Discussion Winning for your Client by Effectively
A Panel Discussion: Rebecca Domnitz, Grace Kulkoski, Kristen Scheuerman, Moderated by Melissa Prost Synopsis: Lawyers are hired by clients to solve their problems. In the context of litigation, the lawyer’s goal is to secure a “win” by proving to the decision-makers that not only does her client’s position have merit, it is stronger than that of her opponent. However, the lawyer’s role as an advocate, zealously pursuing that “W,” may have unintended negative consequences, especially if the lawyer fails to consider the perspective of opposing counsel. In this presentation, a panel of three female plaintiff’s lawyers and three female defense lawyers will discuss effective civil litigation strategies – what works and what doesn’t – particularly when it comes to communications with the other side. They will address a host of examples.
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
A book will be distributed to you prior to the retreat - register early!!
